Dodford Primary School in Worcestershire have just seen their wonderful new school library completed after only ten days on site. The project has been a real success and started with a conversation about the school not having enough space for their books or for children to be comfortable and inspired by a special place for reading.
The library has been designed and built in full consultation with the school community and care and consideration has been taken to ensure the building blends beautifully with the rest of the school buildings, the outdoor space and the surrounding area. The project demonstrates the versatility of a Garden Escape building and shows how in schools, the problem of not having enough space for inspired learning can be solved with outstanding results.
The new library has a low carbon footprint and has been constructed from the highest quality sustainable materials and includes several environmentally friendly features such as sun pipes to ensure excellent natural light levels all year round and a living sedum roof.
